Recomended to Who?
One great reason to read “The Scorch Trials”, by James Dashner, is because it is action packed. For example, in the beginning, Minho fights with Jorge. “Their leader squeezed his thighs to trap Jorge’s body, then started punching” (Dashner, 149). This quote shows they are using force, and makes the reader want to know what happens next. Also, the “Gladers” have to make it through a big storm. They are racing into the city buildings. This helps the reader know who had died and who had lived. Thirdly, “Stars floated before his eyes as he fell…” (Dashner, 296). From this quote the reader will defiantly want to know what happened and what will happen next. In brief, one reason to read this book is because it is page turning. Minho gets into a fight with Jorge, the “Gladers” have to make it through a big storm, and someone sees stars. Another great reason to read “The Scorch Trials”, by James Dashner, is because it is a different style of survival book. First of all, the “Gladers” have to survive through a terrible storm. Lightning is striking all around them. In a normal survival book, someone is usually stuck on an island, and the storms are not as bad. Secondly, Thomas and Brenda are captured by some crazy people called “Cranks”. “Cranks” are people that go crazy because of a disease called The Flare. In most survival type books, the person is captured by natives on an island. Lastly, Thomas is captured by group B. He has to persuade Group B not to kill him and let him go. In other survival books I have read, the person in not able to persuade the people that captured them. In short, “The Scorch Trials” is a great book to read because it is a unique survival book. The storms are a lot different, the captures are not natives on an island, and Thomas is able to persuade Group B to not kill him and to let him go.

They have their good times and also their bad times. Next, the “Gladers” are teenagers trying to figure out their lives. Most teenagers do not have their lives already planned out. The “Gladers” are trying to figure out where they fit in, just like most teenagers. Also, Thomas is stuck between two girls. He does not know if he likes Teresa or Brenda more. Teenagers often do not know how they really feel about others. In conclusion, “The Scorch Trials” is a great book to read because it is relatable. The “Gladers” act as a family, they are trying to figure out their lives as teenagers, and they are unsure about their feelings.
The last great reason to read “The Scorch Trials”, by James Dashner, is because it shows why great friends are nice to have. To start with, Minho listens to Thomas, and thinks about his ideas. It helps to have someone there to make sure the idea will work. Adding to that, Minho knows what Thomas is going through because Minho is going through the same thing with him. It is great to have a friend who goes through things with you, because then they know how you are feeling. Third of all, the “Gladers” saved Thomas and Brenda when they did not need to. They did because they care about them. In brief, “The Scorch Trials” is a great book to sit down for a while and read on a rainy day, because it proves that friends are important to have.
